REFUND POLICY

Last Updated: 21 August 2026

1. Introduction

This Refund Policy explains when refunds, returns, replacements, cancellations or other remedies may be available for purchases made through Lawemporium.

It forms part of and should be read together with our Terms of Use.

Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes or restricts any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Nigerian consumer-protection law.

2. Failed Payments

A failed payment is not a completed purchase.

If a payment fails but your bank or other payment account appears to have been debited, please contact us with the relevant transaction information.

We will investigate the transaction with the applicable payment provider.

Where Lawemporium did not receive the payment, reversal of the debit may need to be completed by your bank or payment provider.

3. Duplicate Payments

If Lawemporium receives duplicate payment for the same purchase or transaction, please contact us.

Once verified, an appropriate refund of the duplicate amount will be processed.

4. Memberships and Subscriptions

Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, membership fees are generally non-refundable once the applicable membership period has commenced and the purchased membership benefits have been made available.

Cancellation of a recurring membership ordinarily prevents future renewals but does not automatically refund a membership period already supplied.

A refund or other remedy may nevertheless be available where:

      • you were incorrectly charged;

      • a duplicate payment occurred;

      • the purchased membership was not made available because of a technical failure attributable to Lawemporium;

      • Lawemporium materially failed to provide the purchased service; or

      • applicable law otherwise requires a remedy.

    5. Failed Paid Membership Registration

    Where an initial paid membership payment fails, Lawemporium may retain your account under an available Basic membership.

    A failed transaction does not constitute payment for the attempted paid membership.

    You may subsequently retry payment or purchase another eligible paid membership.

    6. Digital Products

    Digital products may include masterclasses, webinars, recordings, downloadable materials and other electronically supplied resources.

    Where a digital product has been successfully supplied and substantially accessed or consumed, a refund will not ordinarily be provided merely because you have changed your mind, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

    A refund or other appropriate remedy may be available where:

        • the purchased digital product was not supplied;

        • access cannot reasonably be provided because of a fault attributable to Lawemporium;

        • the product materially differs from its description;

        • a duplicate payment occurred; or

        • applicable law otherwise requires a remedy.

      Where appropriate, Lawemporium may first attempt to restore access or correct a technical problem.

      7. Masterclasses and Webinars

      For recorded masterclasses and webinars made available after purchase, the provisions concerning Digital Products apply.

      For scheduled live events, any additional cancellation conditions displayed at the time of purchase will also apply.

      If Lawemporium cancels a paid event and does not provide the purchased service or an appropriate alternative, affected purchasers will be offered an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law and the applicable purchase terms.

      8. Books, Compendiums and Physical Goods

      Please inspect physical goods as soon as reasonably practicable after delivery.

      Contact us promptly if an item:

          • arrives damaged;

          • is materially defective;

          • is materially different from what was ordered;

          • does not correspond with its description; or

          • otherwise qualifies for a return or remedy under applicable law.

        We may request reasonable evidence, such as photographs and order information, to assess the issue.

        Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the appropriate remedy may include replacement, repair where appropriate, or refund.

        9. Change-of-Mind Returns for Physical Goods

        Where you simply change your mind or order the wrong physical item, Lawemporium may accept a return at its discretion subject to the condition of the item and any return requirements communicated to you.

        This provision does not affect statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.

        10. Shipping Costs

        Where a return results from an error attributable to Lawemporium or a defective or materially non-conforming product, shipping costs will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

        Where a discretionary return is accepted solely because a customer changed their mind, return delivery costs may be the customer’s responsibility.

        11. Legalin Paid Profile Access

        Purchases granting access to restricted Legalin profile information are digital-access purchases.

        Once the purchased access has been successfully granted and made available, the purchase is generally not refundable merely because you subsequently decide not to use the access.

        A refund or other remedy may be considered where:

            • access was not granted despite successful payment;

            • a duplicate payment occurred;

            • purchased access was materially unavailable because of a Lawemporium technical failure; or

            • applicable law requires a remedy.

          12. Promotional and Discounted Purchases

          Purchasing an item or service at a promotional or membership-discounted price does not remove mandatory consumer rights.

          Where a refund is due, it will ordinarily be calculated using the amount actually paid for the relevant purchase, subject to applicable law.

          13. Requesting a Refund

          To request a refund or other remedy, please provide where available:

              • your name;

              • account email address;

              • order or transaction number;

              • product, service or membership purchased;

              • purchase date;

              • reason for your request; and

              • any supporting information reasonably necessary to assess the request.

            Send requests to:

            info@lawemporiumng.com

            14. Refund Processing

            Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned using an appropriate available payment method, subject to the capabilities and requirements of the applicable payment processor.

            The time taken for funds to appear in your account may depend on the payment provider, bank or other financial institution.

            15. Consumer Rights

            This Refund Policy does not replace or limit mandatory consumer rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other applicable Nigerian law.

            Consumers may also have the right to seek assistance or redress from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
